Duties

As a Plate Printer Assistant Supervisor, you will:
  • Schedule work to be accomplished during a specific shift and provides for effective use of Plate Printers and Printing Plant Workers in a most efficient and productive manner.
  • Transmit written instructions, notices, and orders from primary Plate Printer Supervisor and/or higher authorities.
  • Monitor section operations during a specific shift and enforces safety, security, quality and accountability procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain graphs and other records of workloads and work forces; amount of work completed, rate of completion, material/stock accountability and similar data.

The BEP is currently in the process of having a new facility built in Beltsville, MD and expect to move to the new facility within the next 5 years. If selected, you may be sent and/or reassigned to the new Beltsville facility. By applying to this position, you understand this potential requirement.

Physical Requirements:
The position works in a production environment and spends significant amounts of time walking on concrete floors, moving, and climbing in and around large industrial printing presses and related equipment. The position may at times exert moderate forces when lifting, pushing, or pulling equipment, parts, or supplies. Lifting occurs with normal body mechanics and does not exceed 45 pounds. Lift, carry and place on an average of once per week OVl ink kits (set of nine) and intaglio press plates not exceeding 15 pounds under normal and usual conditions.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for workdays during the shutdown period.

  • Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
