Summary
\u003Cp\u003EThis position is located in the U.S. Fire Administration, National Fire and Emergency Medical Services Division, Prevention and Special Operations Branch. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in the emergency medical, fire, and emergency services sector to assist with national level disaster and homeland security activities, as well as in-depth understanding of program management (including contracts and budgeting) and written and verbal communication related experience.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E \u003C/p\u003E

Duties
\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat will I do in this position if hired? \u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn this position, you will be responsible for program implementation and maintenance activities in support of U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) programs. Typical assignments include:\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPlanning, developing and implementing operational protocols for preparedness and response activities for major fire, emergency medical, rescue, hazardous material, and other emergency incidents including planning for continuity of operations, critical infrastructure protection, etc.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EProviding ongoing technical assistance to fire and EMS community leaders during catastrophic incidents at the\u003Cbr\u003EFederal, State, and local levels in support of ESF-4 under the NRP protocols.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EServing as back-up and interfacing with the Fire Desk Watch Officer at the National Operations Center to provide ancillary support analysis during heightened levels of alert.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPreparing requests for and evaluating unsolicited proposals, recommending contracts/grant for funding, making adjustments to contact/grant in accordance with established Governmental and Agency regulation and procedures, providing technical direction to contractor/grantee and monitoring day-to-day work efforts to ensure work meets quality and completion timelines. \u003C/li\u003E\u003C/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat else do I need to know? \u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAt FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management. \u003C/strong\u003EEvery FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
