Resp & Qualifications PURPOSE: The Data Scientist (Hybrid) position is on the Provider Analytics team under the Health Services division. It provides data, reports, and analyses in support of initiatives to improve health equity, outcomes, access, and affordability of care, focused on the areas of health care providers and value-based programs. We are looking for an experienced professional residing in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area who is willing and able to work in a hybrid capacity. The incumbent will be able to work from home most days, but attendance at a CareFirst location (typically the Canton office) will be required one day per week or more depending on business needs and work activities. Identifies and solves business problems with the Provider Analytics team by using various numerical techniques, algorithms, and models in statistical modeling, machine learning, operations research, and data mining. Uses advanced analytical capabilities to support data science initiatives. Communicates across product teams and with customers and educates on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistical models. Acting as a liaison and interface between analytics, business units and other departments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS: Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. Salary Range: $83,736 - $166,309 Salary Range Disclaimer The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the work is being performed. This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration.
