Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Clinical Document Improvement. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for coordinating the workflow among the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists. Oversee the daily work assignments of CDI Staff on the Nursing Units and past discharge review activity. Coordinate the concurrent query process and facilitate improvement in the overall quality of medical record documentation as it relates to DRG assignments. Through daily interaction with physicians and other members of the patients multidisciplinary team work to obtain appropriate documentation to support appropriate severity of illness and expected risk of mortality. Coordinate educational activities among CDI Team and monitor individual CDI reporting productivity functions and quality reports Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree Nursing or other Clinical practice field Current and valid NYS Registered Nursing License or other area of clinical practice RN or RHIA Professional Certifications / Registration: Indicate special certifications that are required or preferred for the position Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist CCDS within one year ofHire OR Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner CDIP 3 5 years Direct clinical practice experience Excellent management/leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication both oral and written and interpersonal skills and a team player Excellent computer skills Excellent medical record chart review skills Preferred Qualifications: Master s Degree HIM Nursing or other Clinical practice field Certified Coding Specialist CCS OR RegisteredHealth Information Administrator RHIA 3 5 years Prior management or leadership experience Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.95 - $157,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
