Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiological Services Attendant.

In this role, the successful candidate assists X Ray Technologist with preparing patients and exam areas for various radiologic examinations. Receives guidance from Manager/Supervisor and Lead X Ray Technologist.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains equipment supply levels and cleanliness of exam rooms
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's mission and core values and incorporates them into the performance of duties
  • Prepares patient for procedure
  • Gathers and sets up equipment and supplies according to departmental prcedures
  • Notifies Technologist of patient arrival
  • Serves as a liasion between front desk lead technologists, RNs, physicians, and patients
  • Escorts patients from waiting area to changing rooms to procedure rooms
  • Uses standard procedures to identify the correct patient
  • Asks patient to confirm his/her identity by stating their first name Introduces self to the patient in a pleasant and courteous manner
  • Gives patient appropriate gown/shorts for examination requested
  • May assist to lift and transfer patient onto the exam table
  • Provides for patient comfort before during and after the procedure which may include: staying with the patient while the technologist leaves the room
  • Recognizes need for and follows isolation precautions
  • Demonstrates skill in using the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology
  • When needed may assist patients with safely guiding them to bathroom facilities and/or administer urinals
  • Ensures the exam rooms are sufficiently stocked and neat; changes linen bags throughout the day and replenishes linen and other supllies as needed
  • Cleans the rooms after every patient
  • Assists with other duties as required including answering phones, taking messages, administering surveys, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1 year healthcare related experience - must include customer service experience with direct patient contact
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of proper body mechanics in order to lift patients

Preferred Qualifications:
High School Degree or the equivalent

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,831.10 - $49,862.87 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
