Examples of Important Duties
- Serve as the liaison with the Department of Parks and Recreation to maintain Commission-owned buildings (including Largo HQ) by entering and tracking tickets using the maintenance and custodial tracking system.
- Ensure compliance with the employee badge policies and procedures.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Manage the contracts for the Planning Department's equipment.
- Manage parking assignments.
- Coordinate ADA accommodation requests in collaboration with Human Resources, including those that are confidential or highly sensitive in nature.
- Manage the programming of employee badges and maintaining up to date records outlining the levels of building and room access for the Planning Department.
- Manage the annual physical inventory of the Planning Department's fixed and controlled assets using both an internal and enterprise-wide system.
- Obtain quotes, prepare purchase requisitions, and track invoices.
- Recommend budget requests for the Facilities section, maintaining all necessary financial tracking systems and records, and processing financial/procurement items as needed.
- Coordinate with the Department of Parks and Recreation staff to conduct required space feasibility and utilization studies.
- Develop and enforce compliance of the policies and procedures related to room reservations.
- Administer, monitor and enforce strict adherence to the policies i.e. required drug and alcohol testing in the case of motor vehicle collisions, accidents, and any vehicle damage.
- Ensure that all Department employees complete/meet Commission requirements prior to driving a Commission vehicle. Notify staff and management of an MVA driving suspension to ensure removal of participation in the Department's Fleet System and use of fleet vehicles.
- Oversee internal and external event planning, facilities set ups and provide regular updates to the Division Chief.
- Manage event requests and calendars.
- Ensure that the Commission's/Department's policies and procedures are enforced.
- Develop and update the Department's Emergency Evacuation Plan and conduct emergency evacuations in compliance with M-NCPPC's Risk Management guidelines and county regulations.
- Participate as an active member of relevant committees and task forces.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Business or any related field.Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management, finance or any other related field of business administration.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total 6 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management or events management
- General knowledge and understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, fire and life safety)
- Knowledge of fleet management acquisition, operation, maintenance, repair and disposal of motor vehicles
- Experience in managing facility related contract services and vendors.

The M-NCPPC offers a competitive salary range of $60,849 to $107,768 at the Administrative Specialist II level (salary is commensurate with education and experience) with excellent benefits including generous leave, extensive health coverage, deferred compensation plan, and employee pension plan.
