About BioPharmaceutical Development at AstraZeneca

About the AZ Apprentice Program

AstraZeneca's Laboratory Sciences Apprenticeship offers a unique full-time opportunity, combining paid, on-the-job training with part-time classroom instruction. In our 3-year program, earn a competitive salary and a fully funded Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Biotechnology from Montgomery Community College. You'll attend classes (about 2 days/week) and collaborate with expert managers and mentors, gaining hands-on experience and tackling impactful projects. The program includes technical courses on Good Manufacturing Practices, cleanroom behaviors, and separation techniques. Apprentices perform duties like basic analytical testing and operating biomanufacturing equipment, ensuring data integrity, and troubleshooting processes.

You'll contribute significantly while learning, playing a vital role in making a positive difference.

This is a 3-year full-time program, starting April 7, 2025 .

Essential for the Role:

We seek enthusiastic individuals with a passion for learning, teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED (must show proof) or some college.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Job-focused assessment (JFA) through our vendor SHL.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.


Preferred Requirements:
  • High School level life sciences (Chemistry or Biology)

Compensation:

The annual base pay for this position is $ 53,000.00/per annum. Our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage per the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, an employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
