POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving process improvements. The Director, Operations will collaborate with various departments to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage safety risk factors in the battery collection supply chain.
  • Oversee the operation of the Call2Recycle battery collection supply chain and vendor network including product development, fulfillment, outbound and reverse logistics, battery sorting and battery processing (recycling).
  • Monitor financial performance and oversee cost control activities to control costs.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize and continuously improve processes, procedures, and technological capabilities.
  • Oversee the execution and documentation of processes and standard operating procedures for the collection, transportation and recycling of batteries and other e-waste products.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders including vendors, transportation providers and regulatory agencies.
  • Create, maintain, and report on key performance indicators for operational performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally other departments to maximize collections and achieve operational goals.
  • Support the development and implementation of programs and operational solutions to meet cost, operational, and compliance objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with program, certification and governmental requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required; however, comparable professional experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to oversee multiple teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Interested in and able to flourish in a mission-based organization where culture and values are paramount in importance.
  • Is a self-starter; embodies a thirst for learning and a curious nature.
  • ·Possesses a constructive attitude and a desire to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, utilizing a high sense of urgency, patience, and flexibility

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Direct and Indirect Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports as well as indirect teams, including oversight of leaders who themselves manage additional team members two levels below this role.
  • Operations Management: Expertise in logistics, operations, engineering, or decision analysis, with in-depth knowledge of operations and logistics principles, practices, and performance metrics
  • Multi-Site and Vendor Management: Proven experience in multi-site management or overseeing multiple supply chain and logistics vendors to ensure seamless operations and alignment with organizational goals
  • Continuous Growth: Demonstrated record of continuous career progression
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Operating effectively in heavily regulated environments.

  • Performance Reporting: Developing and maintaining key performance indicators and reporting on operational performance.
  • Adaptability: Adapting to a changing environment and a rapidly growing organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is remote-based within the United States. Candidates must be able to work from a U.S.-based location, and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States for Call2Recycle.
  • Regular travel (estimated 2-3 times per month) as needed. Travel could include, but not be limited to, visiting vendors, conducting audits, attending conferences, customer meetings, or team/organization-wide meetings. Call2Recycle’s corporate office is in Marietta, GA; this position does not need to be based there.
  • The work hours, Monday - Friday, are 8 hours per day. The position may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods. Our approach to schedules is to focus more on the quality and timeliness of the work being done. We recognize the importance of ensuring staff can connect with each other and can maintain a work-life balance.
