As a Government Relations Specialist II here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the company's government relations strategy. You will be accountable for building and maintaining relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advocate for Honeywell's interests in the Energy & Sustainability sector. You will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze their impact on the company, and develop strategies to address potential demand and opportunities.

You will report directly to our Director External Communications, and you'll work out of our Washington, DC location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on Honeywell's government relations efforts and its ability to navigate the complex landscape of policies and regulations in the Energy & Sustainability sector. By monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, analyzing their potential impact, and assisting in the development of government relations strategies, this role will contribute to Honeywell's ability to anticipate and respond to changes in the regulatory environment.

This position will support our Fluorine Products (FP) business through working on advocacy campaigns that support legislative, regulatory and business compliance needs. This role reports into the FP business management team and will work on various public affairs, issue management, government relations, and regulatory support efforts.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Advocacy message development and support for legislative and regulatory audiences-economic impact, positive messaging on use of HON products and the positive impact they have in the marketplace
  • Staff potential policy and regulatory focused speaking engagements and speakers to support advocacy
  • Identify, arrange and staff panel presentations at select conferences
  • Develop and implement an offensive campaign to differentiate HON solutions in marketplace
  • Crisis and issue management support
  • Research and help team stay informed of trends to identify potential issues
  • Coordinate and support communication and other efforts with other key associations
  • Support branding and market positioning
  • Develop and produce other paid media for senior communications leadership
  • Thought leadership in executive positioning and visibility
  • Organize and manage Lobbyist Toolkits and other advocacy collaterals for customers
Washington DC, the annual base salary range is $110,000 - $120,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE

• 5+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of government processes, policies, and regulations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
