Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

The Vice President of Clinical Trials (CT) and Sonic Research Network (SRN) Business Development will play a pivotal role in defining the strategic direction and assisting with the tactical planning for all field sales activities for CT and SRN organization offerings. This role is responsible for growing revenue, increasing EBITA margin, top-grade sales organization, and delivering monthly forecast reports.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Grow revenue and EBITA by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results for CT and SRN business development.
  • Lead search to identify all CT /SRN targets, ensuring alignment with SHUSA objectives.
  • Assist in building clinical pathology service by identifying and analyzing medical and financial viability based on field intelligence.
  • Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities and technologies to drive innovation with the SRN and SHUSA leadership.
  • Establish sales objectives using forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for various Pharma diagnostic sectors by projecting expected sales volume and profitability from new and existing clients.
  • Maintain sales volumes, product mix, and selling price by staying current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competition that exists within the industry and our geography.
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and evaluating the performance of additional task force sales/account executive staff.
  • Ensure account executives' performance by coaching, monitoring, and counseling employees, as needed.
  • Maintain and schedule meetings with key senior management team (SMT) to discuss sales opportunities, needs, and market requirements. Work with this key group to formulate a plan and monitor those plans until completion.
  • Visit clients periodically individually or with other account executives.
  • Perform periodic check-ins with clients to ensure they are satisfied with the sales staff and our laboratory services.
  • Support Operations to ensure continual process improvement in efficiency and quality as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of the ongoing program development and product pipeline and give in-depth advice on potential new projects (internal and external).
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, including medical regulatory affairs and Compliance to align research and clinical priorities with organizational SRN objectives.
  • Report CT and Research opportunities to the Chief Medical Officer monthly and/or when requested.
  • Special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • PhD in Biological Science, Clinical Research, or related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in research and clinical trial management
  • Knowledge and understanding of early and late-phase clinical trial design and global regulatory requirements for study execution

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Possess a strong understanding of marketing strategies and tactics, sales techniques, product demonstration, and sales control systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles and processes for providing the highest level of customer and personal services, maintaining a positive and friendly attitude when interacting with patients, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to conduct customer needs, determine methods for maintaining quality standards, and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to influence others with persuasion, encouragement, and demonstration of product knowledge.
  • Engage in active listening by understanding others' points, asking questions, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills to consider potential outcomes and identify the best course of action.
