Summary In this position, you will serve as a Contract Specialist for Regional Offices, Region Three, Mission Support Division, Administrative Services Branch. The ideal candidate should have experience with acquisition procedures, development procurement documentation, interpreting and advising on procurement policy, support procurement planning and coordinating procurement project with various stakeholders. Duties \u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat will I do in this position if hired?\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn this Contract Specialist position, you will provide guidance on business and industry practices and market conditions.\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003ETypical assignments include:\u003C/p\u003E- Performing contract pre-award work to secure contracts for the acquisition of goods and services and ensuring that procurements are obtained from responsible sources at fair and reasonable prices.\u003Cbr\u003E- Developing of new or innovative acquisition or source selection plans and for the development of contract terms, conditions, or financial arrangements, which may serve as models for future acquisitions.\u003Cbr\u003E- Monitoring and administering contract performance after a contract is awarded to ensure proper progress, negotiate any modifications to a contract, and to ensure that contract activities are completed.\u003Cbr\u003E- Examining purchase requests for completeness, including accounting codes, item descriptions, estimated costs, and quantities and prepares the final copies of purchase or delivery orders; preparing the procurement action with technical, legal, and contract pricing staff; and providing guidance in the development of the statement of work.\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat else do I need to know? \u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAt FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management. \u003C/strong\u003EEvery FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
