Summary \u003Cp\u003EThis position is located in Region Two, Response Division, Region Watch Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate experience in sourcing data, analyzing information, developing reports, hosting coordination calls, delivering briefings, initiating notifications, and engaging with leadership teams related to threats, hazards, and incidents, impacting or anticipated to impact an assigned area of responsibility.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E \u003C/p\u003E Duties \u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat will I do in this position if hired? \u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn this position, you will be the Emergency Management Specialist. Typical assignments include:\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003ECoordinating with other entities the response to unintentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters and other humanitarian emergencies, hazards, or natural and man-made/technological incidents.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESupporting the maintenance of national situational awareness of the Agency\u0027s operational status and monitoring emerging incidents or potential incidents with possible operational consequences.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EServing on a Watch Team that maintains a 24-hour regional situational awareness to conduct analysis, determine possible impacts, identify potential and occurring incidents within their respective areas of responsibility, and report to the Regional Administrator while directly supporting response operations.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EDelivering senior management officials with relevant information required to direct Federal responses to Local, State, Tribal, Territorial, Regional, and National emergencies.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAssisting DHS Departments, FEMA Regions, Other Federal Agencies, and other government entities to ensure the capability to continue essential functions during any event or incident.\u003C/li\u003E\u003C/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat else do I need to know? \u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAt FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management. \u003C/strong\u003EEvery FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
