Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Billing Coordinator - *CPC/Radiation Oncology/Mineola*. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of charge submission in the Department of Radiation Oncology Oversee practice operations as they relate to the aforementioned and implement change where necessary Capture all professional charges deposit all checks received and will interact with other Radiation Oncology staff members to ensure that all procedures performed are accurately documented coded and billed Audits charts to ensure all services are documented and billed correctly Reviews and advises physicians and staff with regard to local and national coding and reimbursement policies Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor s Degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience Current medical coding certification CPC required Excellent analytical organizational interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills required Compliance with regulatory requirements i e JCAHO appropriate for position Extensive experience and competency with varied computer hardware and software including word processing spreadsheet database scheduling billing communications and presentation applications Ability to communicate effectively and harmoniously with superiors peers subordinates physicians other Medical Center staff patients their families and the general public in a courteous and professional manner Superior typing skills to prepare correspondence with speed and accuracy Knowledge of insurance companies admission procedures and policies to assist and train staff in completing preauthorization/referral requirements Adherence to departmental and Medical Center guidelines concerning safety confidentiality and rules of conduct as outlined in the Employee Staff Handbook Skill in communicating with patients families physicians nurses staff and peers with diplomacy and tact Knowledge of medical terminology preferably oncology/hematology Ability to recognize and identify problems recognize implications and propose and implement alternative solutions Skill in working independently and in following through on assignments with minimal direction. Required Licenses: Certified Professional Coder Preferred Qualifications: None Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $81,137.04 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
