Job Summary

R&D projects may include formulation and physical property testing or test method development of coatings, adhesives, sealant, water/weather proofing, and asphalt system for the weatherproofing industry. Projects are selected to allow the intern to make impact through new product development, quality improvement, sustainability, process optimization, or fundamental research.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review and research project background and status with mentor
Make novel observations
Collect and interpret data
Draw sound conclusions based on data analysis
Summarize work and write SOPs
Present project reviews before colleagues and peers

Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOPs, ASTM tests, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage several projects at one time
A junior or senior enrolled in an accredited four-year institution
Minimum 3.0 GPA required
Major in chemistry, polymer science or materials science
Previous internship experience a plus

- Major in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Material Science
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required
Preferred:
- Previous internship experience

Working hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Proper PPE and Lab Safety materials
