Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Infusion Associate - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing support services for Medical Office and Infusion Intake operations within the Perlmutter Cancer Center Assist with post visit interdepartmental scheduling for patient visits infusion treatments procedures and diagnostic tests in collaboration with other areas Obtains pre authorization/certifications as appropriate Provide assistance to less senior staff and cover the front desk

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides reception assistance, screens telephone callers, handles messages, directs calls as needed
  • Responsible for patient check-in and check-out. Gathers all patient demographic related data and materials from patients and/or their representative. Obtains insurance information, verifies insurance eligibility electronically, takes their picture and asks them to use Patient Secure and enters patient's demographics.
  • Schedules routine appointments and follow up visits. Coordinates inter-department scheduling for specialists visits.
  • Responsible for scheduling appointments for procedures/surgeries as requested.
  • Coordinates testing for patient prior to procedure/surgery for the patient with other departments.
  • Responsible for obtaining pre-authorizations.
  • Monitors work queues for registration and scheduling requests for infusion, office, and lab visits.
  • Monitor Beacon infusion scheduling requests from providers throughout the day and schedule patient appointments from such requests.
  • Ability to understand and interpret infusion scheduling requests for entire treatment plans and schedule all treatment cycles accordingly
  • Calculate length of chair time and nursing availability of that day in accordance with treatment regimen.
  • Coordinate lab, infusion, and MD appointments to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Maintains cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses, office and clinical staff.
  • Answer patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction, or refers them to more senior level staff. Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged.
  • Maintains physician and patient schedule, patient procedure schedules, appointment calendar and OR schedule.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma 3 years of relevant medical clerical experience Must include prior physician practice experience and knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of computer based scheduling and appointment programs

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,012.00 - $68,052.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
