Project Summary:
Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking a highly motivated student interested in expanding their knowledge in IT Project Coordination / Project Management as an IT Project Coordinator Intern for the Summer of 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to assist with & learn the day-to-day responsibilities of an IT Project Manager in a newly implemented Project Management Office (PMO), while we continue to refine and streamline our business processes.

As the IT Project Coordinator intern, you will have the opportunity to work cross-departmentally with multiple divisions of IT, including Foundational Services/Infrastructure, Transformation, Data/Analytics, Enterprise Business Systems, and more. This position will also become comfortable with ServiceNow by regularly utilizing our newly implemented Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) module to track scope, schedule, and resources on multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will primarily execute Project Coordination / Business Analyst responsibilities, which are vital for bridging gaps between business needs and technological solutions. You will observe and assist with step-by-step project management responsibilities through an entire project lifecycle. There is a very wide range of IT project work that is possible for you to assist with, including but not limited to:

  • Preparing documentation and presentation materials for project meetings
  • Utilize our Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) module to track scope, schedule, and resources on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Conducting project task status checks
  • Create and maintain training materials for end users
  • Debrief project teams on overall status and project action items
  • Observe working with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements
  • Observe working with IT development teams to refine requirements into specific tasks to be executed
  • Document PM processes, procedures, and workflows
  • Observe project request assessment and approval assistance
  • Learn how to identify project risks and appropriate time to escalate as needed
  • Assist with creation of project plans
  • Assist with change management


Qualifications:

Candidates should be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, with at least 1 year completed by internship start date. The students major can be a broad scope, including but not limited to Project Management, Computer Science, IT, Communications, or Business. IT knowledge or experience is helpful but is not necessary , as we believe the IT knowledge needed can be taught to the right candidate who is eager to learn.

Candidates should have the following skillset:

  • Exceptional organization
  • Willingness to assist with multiple IT projects simultaneously at a high level
  • High attention to detail
  • Appreciation for standardization & business process creation/improvement
  • Basic understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PPT)
  • Willingness to ask questions on where the project plan could cause a risk or issue
  • Creative problem solving
