Duties
This position is located in the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). OPR is responsible for identifying, mitigating and countering threats and vulnerabilities which undermine CBP's workforce integrity and security. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director managing and overseeing the day to day operational workforce of a Division within OPR, such as Personnel Security Division, Security Management Division, Credibility Assessment Division, or Threat Mitigation and Analysis Division.
This position starts at a salary of $167,603.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $195,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10).

Major duties for this position include:- Supervising through a group of supervisory personnel who are responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating and overseeing a major department-wide mission of administrative programs requiring applications of a wide range of qualitative systems and management support principles and processes.
- Providing technical and administrative supervision to the assigned Division. Establishes and carries out specific action plans for accomplishing short-term goals and objectives.
- Working with contacts that are higher-level supervisors and staff of other work units throughout the agency to coordinate and plan workloads in relation to established priorities, goals and objectives. Contacts are formal or informal and occur in meetings or by telephone.
- Requiring a high degree of analytical ability and communication skills to monitor and analyze the flow of administrative and technical processes throughout the organization recognizing when progress changes need to occur and help to ensure quality work is performed. The incumbent manages through subordinate supervisory positions.
- Exemplifying expert knowledge in the areas of inspection, investigation, compliance and auditing to manage and direct a diverse workforce.

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:- Managing or overseeing a program or office of supervisory and/or non-supervisory analytic personnel (such as law enforcement, military, or intelligence analysis); providing both technical and administrative supervision, establishing goals and priorities to be accomplished by subordinates.
- Supervising supervisory and/or non-supervisory analysts, with oversight of complex and sensitive analysis; providing both technical and administrative supervision, establishing goals and priorities to be accomplished by subordinates.
- Coordinating with other supervisors and peers to establish organizational objectives, goals, priorities, and deadlines to formulate plans to address organizational, programmatic, and workload related changes.
- Evaluating subordinate employees and making decisions regarding routine and non-routine training in support of employee development and training needs.
- Representing the agency in meetings, conferences, and briefings and liaising with mission partners to further investigative goals and maintain organizational relationships.

Security Clearance: You may be required to obtain a Top Secret clearance for this position.
Telework: No-expemptions related to telework may be available in very limited cases
Leadership Training: All newly appointed GS-15s are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include 5 weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
Supervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18 month probationary period upon appointment.
