The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is seeking a Chief Operating Officer.

The Chief Operating Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for providing leadership in human resources, risk management, policy development and administration, security and office space oversight in conjunction with the Board’s overall strategic plan and principles of a recovery oriented system of care.

The ADAMHS Board currently offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to work two days from home and three days in the office each week following the completion of the probationary period.

The salary for this position ranges from $91,912 to $157,483. Pay is commensurate with experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to work for a quasi-independent part of county government, which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board has the legal responsibility and authority for the provision of mental health and addiction treatment and recovery services and contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist clients on the road to recovery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of business, public administration, communication, leadership, organizational theory, operation management, or related field.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
  • Ability to analyze administrative issues and problems, including interpretation of policies and ability to devise courses of action.
  • Ability to make clear, concise, and effective oral and written presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with conflict. Must be respectful of diversity in the workplace.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in business, public administration, or related field, or Juris Doctor Degree licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health and laws.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, verning human resources and risk management activities.
