The HR and Benefits Representative is responsible for the daily administration of all benefit plans offered by ProMedica. Maintain employee health benefit elections and assist employees with questions regarding benefit eligibility and coverage. Serve as an expert resource within the HR department. Assist employees with questions regarding human resources policies, benefit eligibility and coverage. Participate in annual open enrollment process and orientation programs on benefits. Interact with employees, retirees, providers, and payroll to ensure all employee benefit transactions are processed in accordance with established company policy and procedure and state and federal law at all times. Exercise well-developed customer service skills, while interacting regularly with employees and leadership, as well as respective HR COEs. ACCOUNTABILITIES *All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise* 1. Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of ProMedica�s employee benefit offerings; clearly understands eligibility requirements, coverage design, employee contributions and enrollment processes and procedures. Serves as a resource and content expert when employees and members of leadership require assistance and acts as a liaison to the insurance providers. 2. Manage benefit administration processes, entering information into the benefits enrollment system to meet critical deadlines for payroll and benefits enrollment. Demonstrate working knowledge of benefits system, employee contributions, and payroll. 3. Duties to include counsel employees on benefits, respond to and initiate customer inquiries regarding benefits, independently resolves problems whenever feasible, assists with development, planning and implementation of benefits-related activities such as annual open enrollment. 4. Provides HR customer service to employees and managers of all levels. Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully resolve a very high percentage of inquiries that come to HR. Utilizes good judgment in escalating HR concerns and issues to the appropriate HRBP or Leader. 5. Recommend new approaches, enhancement to policies and procedures, to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 6. Work with or refer employees to others for appropriate issue resolution, e.g. benefits questions, leaves of absence, payroll, etc. 7. Maximizes the use of Human Resource software and systems for retrieval and sharing of information. 8. Establishes a collaborative relationship with business unit leadership and all HR employees to ensure that organization goals and objectives are achieved. 9. Interprets policies and plan documents to ensure that situations are addressed in an appropriate manner and policy is followed. 10. Reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Maintains comprehensive files to ensure that appropriate documentation is available. 11. Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards. 12. Participates and/or coordinates projects and analytical tasks as assigned. 13. Attends meeting and in-services as required. 14. Must follow ProMedica Mission and Values at all times. 15. Performs all other duties as assigned. RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor�s degree or equivalent work experience. (Equivalent experience equating to 4 years documented experience in a large organization that offers a comprehensive benefit program.) Skills: Must be proficient with MS Office applications. Must have the ability to address a high volume of phone calls and emails in a timely manner. Must demonstrate the principles of the customer service program despite difficult situations or customer behavior. Must be able to respect, value and actively support the contributions and diversity of all team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Years of Experience: Previous experience in area of human resources/benefits specialty for Healthcare
