Job Description

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

This Sr. Financial Engineer position reports to the Senior Director responsible for Single-Family / Multi-Family Capital Markets Oversight. The team is part of the broader Market and Liquidity Risk Management division within Enterprise Risk Management. This role specifically is responsible for supporting the oversight of capital markets facing transactions including trading activity, risk management, and performance, of the Single-Family and Multifamily businesses. Oversight activities include identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring the risk exposures, including interest rate and spread risk. The team also partners with the company's modeling and analytics resources to develop and monitor methodologies, models, and risk metrics to measure market risk exposures. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills and should have familiarity with financial institution balance sheet risk management.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences:
  • 2 years' experience or more in financial markets, portfolio management, market risk analytics, and/or advanced education demonstrating quantitative, analytical and technical skills (financial engineering, modeling, risk measurement)


Desired Experiences:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent - preferably in STEM program or related field
  • Master's degree or higher, preferred
  • 2 years' experience or more in financial markets, portfolio management, market risk analytics, and/or advanced education demonstrating quantitative, analytical and technical skills (financial engineering, modeling, risk measurement)
  • Familiarity with mortgage industry and risk analytics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex topics across different levels of the organization

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
