Job Title: Machine Operator - Slitting, Cut-to-Length, or Roll-Former
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Shift: 2nd Shift (4x10s)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for independently setting up, operating, and troubleshooting one assigned machine-slitting, cut-to-length, or roll-former-within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform quality checks and basic maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Set up, thread material, and operate one machine (slitting, cut-to-length, or roll-former) independently.
- Follow daily production work orders, ensuring materials and specifications are correctly noted and executed.
- Assist with operation of other machinery under supervision when required.
- Support packaging operations, including banding, palletizing, and labeling finished coils or metal sheets.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using appropriate measuring tools to ensure length, width, and weight specifications are met.
- Achieve daily production goals while maintaining compliance with all safety requirements and protocols.
- Mount and align slitter knives, spacers, and guide discs; make necessary knife clearance and gapping adjustments (specific to roll-former operations).
- Monitor and adjust machine settings based on real-time feedback to maintain product quality.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
Required Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely (training and certification provided by CCM).

- Basic math, computer, and problem-solving skills; must be able to use a calculator.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments (e.g., gauges, tape measures, rulers).

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 months of related manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.

- Measuring instruments (tape measures, rulers, calipers)
- Calculators
- Hand tools and power tools
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and elevated noise levels
- Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is required
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM (4x10s)
- Flexibility required for overtime and occasional weekend shifts
