Carlisle Companies' internships are a designed to expose students to assignments that are both relevant and impactful. This internship will give the student an in-depth look at our business and the functional area they support. It will also give the student exposure to multiple members of our staff for exposure and support.

The Tax Intern will have an opportunity to assist with the following:

  • Preparing Federal and state income tax returns
  • Researching certain tax-related issues
  • Managing business license registrations
  • Responding to notices from tax authorities
  • Preparing estimated payment vouchers
  • Completing other projects as assigned


Learning Objectives

  • Gain insight into working in a professional environment
  • Develop an understanding of the tax software used to prepare tax returns
  • Gain an understanding of the IRS/state tax codes by performing research on various issues
  • Learn the process of completing corporate tax returns
  • Develop time management skills and the ability to be responsible for more than one project at a time

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be at least sophomore status, enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution, majoring in Accounting or related field. The ideal candidate will have strong analytic and computer skills, including a strong knowledge of MS Office suite. Strong communications skills, both verbal and written are also required. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Also, a successful candidate will be flexible and have an appetite for learning. The projects will work with the Tax function so the ability to manage more than one project to meet deadlines will be important.
