OVERVIEW HFC, an Alera Group company, is looking for temps to join us in our Collegiate Customer Service department to join us from June - October 2025 in our Syracuse, NY location! Our Collegiate customer service team would be responsible for assisting with general customer service questions as well as working with our carriers on enrollments and issues. Alera Group was founded in 2017 and has grown to become the 15th largest broker of US business. We are passionate about our clients' success in the areas of Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty Insurance, Retirement Plan Services, and Wealth Services. With a network of offices nationwide, our commitment to collaboration allows us to offer national resources combined with local service. RESPONSIBILITIES Respond promptly to student and parent inquiries via email and phone. Provide accurate and timely information regarding Student Health Insurance Enrollment/waiver process. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues or concerns raised by students and parents. Maintain accurate records of interactions and follow up on outstanding matters as needed. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or supervisor. Ensure a professional and courteous tone in all interactions. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while assisting customers. Collaborate with team members to improve customer service processes. QUALIFICATIONS Previous customer service experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle a high volume of emails and phone calls efficiently. Proficiency in using customer service software, email platforms, and phone systems. Problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Patience and empathy when assisting students and parents. High school diploma or equivalent required; college experience preferred.
