You're also looking for an opportunity to assist the Supervisor with overall day to day duties associated with the courier operation; supporting our customers with problems, special requirements and keeping our laboratory team informed with customer needs. This position plays a key role in training new hires, participating in the laboratory continuing education and safety programs and oversees and maintains departmental policies and procedures as needed for the Courier and Logistics tasks.

This opportunity is full time during first shift.

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all couriers and also support new hires with training and onboarding.
  • Creates and manages reports and daily distribution operations.
  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure that reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens are successfully transported between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations.
  • Answer inquiries for courier program, test information and basic customer related issues.
  • Ensure proper specimen handling, transport, and safe operation of a motor vehicle - rain or shine!
  • Interact with a variety of clients and commit to customer-focused service.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement program and oversee education and safety programs.

All you need is:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
  • Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.
  • Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50lbs).
  • Clean driving record with no more than 2 driving violations within the past 36 months.

Bonus points if you've got:
  • 4+ years of experience operating conventional vehicles for business purposes. This includes cars, trucks, and/or vans.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
