Hours: Days

Pay: $22.29 - 24.51

In this role, you will:
  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored
  • Provides toxicology services information to clients in a timely manner
  • Sets up and maintains new accounts, including up-to-date annual client contracts.
  • Responds to questions or concerns from clients regarding drug testing
  • Works with other labs to set up DOT client accounts
  • Provides on-site or in-house urine drug collections or breath-alcohol testing for clients.
  • Trains other appropriate employees to become certified drug screen collectors and breath alcohol technicians in accordance with federal regulations, ensuring their continuous certification
  • Performs competency checks for BAT and drug collection personnel
  • Prepares collection supplies inventories for other collectors as needed
  • Schedules personnel for after-hour drug screen collections and BAT requests
  • Assists with revising the Toxicology Standard Operating Procedures
  • May assist the billing department in troubleshooting billing problems
  • Reviews outpatient reports and handles problems/issues with island client in absence of the PSC supervisor
  • May act as backup receptionist or lab assistant during periods of staffing shortages
  • Adheres to confidentiality, safety, compliance and legal requirements
  • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with company guidelines on attendance

All you need is:
  • High School diploma required
  • Minimum one-year phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting
  • Minimum one-year experience with CLH/PPPI laboratory information systems.
  • Knowledge of medical/laboratory terminology
  • Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Current and valid certifications for DOT drug screen and breath alcohol testing protocol and regulations
  • Knowledge of billing systems and procedures desired
  • For hospital settings, additional requirements may apply and change without notice, including, but not limited to, criminal background check, health clearance and hospital compliance training
