This opportunity is:

Location: Memphis, TN 38134

Days and Hours: Varies PRN

PRN Not Eligible for Benefits

In this role, you will:
  • Accession histology specimens and contact provider offices if necessary for additional information
  • File and organize requisitions and QC forms
  • Follow up on STAT/called on cases to ensure timely processing
  • Match blocks to slides for each case and correct any discrepancies
  • Allocate cases and deliver to pathologists
  • Assist with day-to-day issues such as faxing urgent results/reports to appropriate providers
  • Pull correlation and QA slides/cases
  • Assist with quality reports
  • Send out cases for further studies/second opinions/consults
  • Organize fed ex deliveries for histology
  • File slides and blocks
  • Provide coverage periodically for lab in Corinth, MS
  • Transcribing when needed
  • Assist with tracking, collecting, and delivering flow and bone marrow slides and paperwork
  • Making phone calls for pathologists (and transferring calls to pathologist when needed)
  • Additional pathologist and department assistance as needed

All you need is:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous training or experience in Transcription and specimen collection or processing
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.

Bonus points if you've got:
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, transcription, data entry, or production
