Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) seeks a highly motivated and skilled Masters-level student intern to support the Global Research and Learning Team. The intern will contribute to the team's efforts in synthesizing existing research, developing research guidance and tools, conducting qualitative research, and supporting the administration and facilitation of meetings and workshops. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in international development research and contribute to impactful housing solutions.

Objectives
- The primary objectives of this internship are to:
* Enhance the team's capacity to synthesize and leverage existing research to inform programs, sector influence, and advocacy.
* Support the development of research guidance and tools for Habitat network staff.
* Contribute to the execution of qualitative research activities.
* Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of team meetings and workshops.

Scope of Work
- The intern will perform the following tasks under the supervision of the Sr Director for Research and Learning:
Research Synthesis:
* Organize and curate a database of key international housing literature (sourced from existing literature reviews and new literature searches).
* Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings from existing HFHI research products, academic publications, and grey literature related to international housing.
* Draft engaging Habitat and sector research summaries for the Research and Learning newsletter.

Research Guidance and Tool Development:
* Support the drafting and refinement of research guidance documents, including action research guidance and tools, ethical research guidelines, and protocols for academic research partnerships.
* Assist in the development of templates for qualitative data collection and analysis.

Qualitative Research Support:
* Assist in the development of and training on qualitative research instruments for discrete priority research projects.
* Support the analysis of qualitative data using appropriate methodologies and software.

Meeting and Workshop Support:
* Assist in the planning and organizing of meetings and workshops, including housing, curriculum design group meetings, and Community of Practice calls.
* Take detailed and accurate meeting minutes and action items.
* Support the facilitation of online and in-person meetings.

Technology and AI Integration:
* Leverage AI tools to expedite research tasks, such as literature review summarization and qualitative data coding.
* Explore and suggest new applications of technology to improve research and learning processes.

Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in - or recently graduated from - a Masters-level program in a field related to international housing, such as urban planning, architecture, development studies, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in qualitative research methods and analysis.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 1 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Familiarity with qualitative data analysis software is desirable.
* Familiarity with leveraging AI tools for research and productivity.
* Interest in and commitment to Habitat for Humanity's mission.

Supervision and Reporting
The intern will report to the senior director for Research and Learning and support the Director of Network Learning. Regular meetings will provide guidance, feedback, and support.

Duration and Location
The internship will last one year, starting July 1, 2025, and ending June 15, 2026. The intern will have a flexible schedule of between 10 and 29 hours per week, averaging between 15 and 20 hours per week over the course of the year. The internship will be fully remote, with meetings scheduled at times appropriate for coordination with teams in diverse time zones: the US, Europe, and Asia. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Compensation:
This position is expected to earn an hourly wage of $19.00 per hour.
