The Boeing Company is currently seeking an F/A-18 and EA-18G Software Engineering Manager to join the Software Organization located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The ideal candidate will lead the Advanced Mission Systems (AMS) team of engineers developing real-time embedded software for the F/A-18 in an agile, collaborative environment. Engineers on the team develop software that is responsible for the F/A-18 & EA-18 G's advanced mission system capabilities. Additionally, you will serve as a business owner on one of the program's agile release trains.

You will work closely with Program Management to perform on our contracts and have frequent customer interactions. The selected candidate will also help set up the additional scope of work to be performed in Daytona Beach and will manage cross-site communications.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops and carries out project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members
  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Hires, Manages, develops and motivates employees
  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
  • Manage within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe)
  • Coordinate across teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) and across other various ARTs on the F/A-18 & EA-18G Solution Train
  • Manage and coordinate work across unclassified, collateral secret and SAP areas to ensure full solutions for the warfighter
  • Responsible for work scope growth and alignment across 2 Boeing sites (STL and Daytona Beach)
  • Fulfills Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties as appropriate for Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking
  • Presents software status as needed to Boeing Program Management and Navy customers and supports the managing of program contracts
  • Ability to travel 10%


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Special Programs Access (Post-Start)
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Prior experience working on Mission Systems products
  • Experience leading teams, ideally software teams with F/A-18 SW
  • Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management

Summary pay range : $154,700.00 - $209,300.00
