Brief Job Overview The USP Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) team seeks to continuously move medicine manufacturing into the future through practical applications and solutions in advanced manufacturing and analytical technologies that increase medicine quality, strengthen supply chain resiliency, and improve the efficiency and sustainability of manufacturing. The AMT team helps make drugs in new ways, test the quality of drugs in new ways, and build more efficient, sustainable, and competitive industries both in the US and around the globe. To do this work, the AMT team brings together expertise in chemistry, biologics, engineering, data science, economics, business, and regulatory sciences. The Director for Sustainable Manufacturing brings actionable environmental sustainability expertise to the AMT team and the broader Global Health and Manufacturing Services Division. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing programs focused on development and deployment of advanced manufacturing and analytical technologies to reduce carbon footprints, reduce manufacturing costs and waste, and enhance resilience and sustainability of regional manufacturing. The incumbent’s inaugural, donor-funded work will play a critical role in advancing a climate-smart product strategy, representing a foundational investment at the nexus of regional health product manufacturing and climate action in Africa. Finally, the incumbent will develop collaborative partnerships with external organizations to advance the work of USP in the sustainable manufacturing sector through deployment of AMTs. Compensation Base Salary Range: USD $161,000.00 – $214,500.00 annually. Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
