Alera Group is looking for an Employee Benefits Account Manager. With a network of offices nationwide, our commitment to collaboration allows us to offer national resources combined with local service. RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain strong client relationships through strategic consultation and responsive service. Lead client onboarding, renewals, and meetings, ensuring alignment with client goals and market trends. Serve as the primary contact for deliverables including strategy plans, analytics, compliance, and vendor coordination. Manage the full RFP process, analyzing proposals and recommending optimal plan options. Negotiate with carriers and vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms for clients. Address client inquiries on benefits, claims, billing, and escalated issues across communication channels. Collaborate with internal teams and stay informed on industry trends to support clients and Alera Group�s strategic goals. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor�s degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- 1-3 years of experience in Employee Benefits
- Active or attainable Ohio Health & Welfare Insurance License (with ongoing CE requirements)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel� and PowerPoint�
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft proposals and deliver presentations to senior-level audiences
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Collaborative, professional, and client-focused with a commitment to service excellence
