Our team in Belleville, Illinois is located on-site within our Central Laboratory and has advanced analytical chemistry capabilities including LC-QQQ, GC-MS/MS, and LC-QTOF. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in sample preparation and maintaining one or more of these instruments using EPA validated methodologies. Current projects are focused on PFAS, taste and odor, and treatment impacts on constituents of emerging concern in drinking water and it's sources.
You should have demonstrated experience in technical writing and peer-reviewed publications. In addition, strong data analysis skills and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear graphical visualizations and conclusive written results are critical to success in this role. Contributing to the technical background and approach in research funding proposals will also be part of the role as you move forward. If these things sound exciting to you--then don't wait to apply!

Primary Role
The Scientist assists in solving complex problems in a scientific, technology or engineering domain [e.g., engineering, chemistry, microbiology, waste water treatment, software, machine learning etc.) related to Amwater's business areas. They assist in the creation and maintenance of a research and innovation agenda and roadmap to support AmWater Business needs. The scientist primarily supports research projects and contributes to the development of new products and applications in a chosen domain area. The Scientist adheres to research standards and the governance framework set by leadership. The Scientist helps create prototypes of an inventive solution, service or product.
