The Maintenance Shift Leader will have shift accountability for all maintenance nightshift results, daily management systems, and organizational health. This individual will be responsible for executing, managing and improving the results on their shift as needed to contribute to the overall plant CBN and Master plan. In this role they will manage the people, equipment, Preventative Maintenance (PM) processes, Predictive Maintenance processes, and own our CMMS for their shift. This person will work with the Maintenance Unit Leaders and Area Maintenance Manager to grow the capability of the people in all areas. They will execute the work that the Maintenance Unit Leaders, Planners, and Technical Leaders schedule. This position will report to an Area Maintenance Manager.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Ensure clear direction and priorities are set for the shift and that these are aligned with the business unit needs
  • Execute the shift plan with input from the planners and MUL's. Modify based on emerging issues.
  • Manage the transfer of resources across the plant to prioritize the most important work.
  • Own Plant standards within the shift.
  • Partner with Operational Team Leaders to ensure that shift results are consistently delivered.
  • Track gap results vs. work plan for the shift and drive KPI's including safety and quality
  • Develop AA Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians on the shift. Coordinate this with the MUL's.
  • Provide training, coaching and facilitation
  • Manage the Safety systems (Safety L1's, near- misses, and behavior safety observations) on the shift.
  • Execute and support the key daily management systems such as shift handoff, RCFA, 60-minute reports and escalation responsibilities.
  • Communicate business shift results and needs to MUL's and senior management
  • Involved in all activities including daily management, budgeting, strategic planning, enabler planning and execution, and the capital forecasting process on the shift to support Maintenance initiatives.
  • Interface with multiple functions within the plant, as well as WHQ Engineering, Process Safety, Product Development, Reliability, and annual network teams.
  • Capital project execution.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of Maintenance/Engineering Experience in a Leadership Position
  • Maintenance experience with a strong understanding of various plant functions
  • Strong drive and initiative to make improvements in a variety of areas with minimum supervision. Change agent.
  • Strong commitment to personal development and growth
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SAP CMMS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Most be able to work successfully with all personality types
