Do you like working with teens? Do you have experience in Marketing and Outreach? We are currently seeking a bi-lingual team member to connect with the Spanish speaking population of teens and parents throughout Prince George's County. If you join our team, you will aide in year-round, part-time assignments. Candidates must be willing to participate in program activities, community outreach events, and effectively communicate with the public, supervisors, staff, youth and parents.

The Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking Seasonal Intermittent applicants to fill a position in our outreach/marketing field.

Examples of Important Duties

  • Promotes programs and events through social media, preparation of news releases, video production, brochures etc.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises volunteers for Youth Services as assigned;
  • Attends meetings of teen programs; civic organizations/councils, etc; to promote initiatives, programs and events;
  • Responsible for internal promotion of programs, polices, processes, learning opportunities and other initiatives.
  • Supports internal Youth Programs by attending and participating as an outreach representative.
  • Performs other related duties and administrative duties as required or as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, and weekends.
  • Must have some knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Social Media platforms.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish).
  • This position pays at a range from $20.1711/hr-$31.2647 dependent upon experience and qualifications.

Supplemental Information

This position is seasonal and does not include a benefits package. Salaries are based on experience.

A complete background investigation will be conducted prior to hire.

The following information is a summary of benefits extended to all Seasonal employees of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). This is for informational purposes only and is subject to change.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees

Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.

If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.

Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
