The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County, Parks and Recreation, Aquatics and Athletic Facilities Division is seeking Café Attendants positions for the Tucker Road Ice Rink. Candidates will responsible for the training and operation of the front desk and café staff. Knowledge of facility software, schedules, programs, fees and policies preferred. The schedule will be days, evenings and weekends. The salary range will be $15.00/hr-$15.52/hr dependent on experience, qualifications, and certifications.

Examples of Important Duties

  • Provide a wide variety of technical support to Managers. Create, review, and submit computer documents and paperwork for approval and processing;
  • Display a positive attitude. Greet customers, set up and open, stock, break down and clean, and inventory.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic appearance and work area ensuring all facility safety and operations rules and regulations are being followed.
  • Display a positive attitude. Greet customers, answer phone calls in a timely manner and transfer all calls to the appropriate staff;
  • Communicate with managers of any concerns and/or needs of the food service operation and its equipment;
  • Take orders, collect payment, and prepare food and beverages;
  • Open and/or close the Café as required and completing all security procedures;
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and/or written instructions efficiently and effectively. This will include the ability to complete daily reports.
  • Effectively resolve any/all customer service issues in a timely manner consistent with M-NCPPC policy.
  • Complete safety trainings and certifications as required. Performs other related duties as assigned;
  • Previous food prep/service and/or cash handling experience or certification a plus;
  • Ability to obtain food service certification (training provided)

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees

Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.

If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.

Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
