Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.

We are seeking a qualified per diem data analyst to provide support for data management and analyses for two research projects: One study uses the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health Study (PATH) data, the nation's largest longitudinal data on tobacco use and related health, to examine the impact of e-cigarette characteristics (e.g., flavors) and marketing on tobacco use behaviors. The other study is a clinical trial that tests the preliminary effectiveness of a social media-based smoking cessation intervention. The Data Analyst will work closely with faculty in the Department of Population Health and NYU School of Global Public Health.

Position type and hours
Part time. ~5-15 hours/week. Flexible remote and onsite. Flexible weekday and weekend hours.

Job Responsibilities:
    • Duties and responsibilities
      • Maintain and clean data from REDCap
      • Conduct data management and statistical analyses.
      • Perform reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
      • Document study files such as analyses and summaries.
      • Support the development of publications, project reports, and conference presentations, including drafting data analysis sections papers, creating tables and figures for presentations.
      • Maintain communications with team members regarding the progress of data analysis.


Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters degree in epidemiology or biostatistics; or Masters degree in public health with a specialization in epidemiology or biostatistics; or Bachelors degree with relevant work experience
Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in Stata and/or SAS
At least 2 years of work experience and/or research experience in a relevant setting
Ability to select and apply appropriate statistical methods for collecting and summarizing varied data
Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team

Preferred Qualifications:
Qualifications
Masters degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field.
At least 1 year of work experience in data analysis and/or research.
Strong quantitative skills in SAS and/or R.
Demonstrated professional maturity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills, and strong motivation to learn.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
Experience with longitudinal research and/or clinical trials is highly desirable.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $25.54 - $37.36 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
