Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown, NJ seeks an enthusiastic, ambitious and goal-oriented Community Engagement Manager who is passionate about how the power of arts can facilitate community connections and bring people of diverse backgrounds, ages and cultures together.

MPAC, a 1319-seat venue, presents a wide range of programs that entertain, enrich and educates the diverse population of the region and enhances the economic vitality of Northern New Jersey through the arts.

As a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, MPAC welcomes more than 200,000 patrons to 250 events annually, serves more than 40,000 children through education and outreach programs, has an economic impact of $15 million, and is ranked in the Top 50 performing arts venues in the world per Pollstar, a leading entertainment industry magazine.

The Community Engagement Manager at Mayo Performing Arts Center reports directly to the General Manager and works with the Community Engagement Consultant to carry out all responsibilities.

Summary of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• The Community Engagement Manager will work to develop annual and a long-term plan for expanding and maintaining community collaborations that promote Mayo Performing Arts Center’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) as outlined in the organization’s strategic plan;

• Working with a Community Engagement consultant, the Manager will be responsible for scheduling, organizing and staffing MPAC Arts in the Community events such as free outdoor concerts, as well as represent MPAC at community functions and similar events;

• Manager will stay current on DEIA trends and work with staff to make sure that the organization is meeting and furthering its goals in this area;

• Manager will work to find ways to use Community Engagement as a means to introduce diverse audiences to MPAC events;

• Candidate should be comfortable creating relationships with diverse organizations in the Theatre’s region to build local partnerships;

• Candidate will consult and collaborate with other MPAC Departments to ensure that Community Engagement activities align with MPAC’s overarching mission and strategic goals;

• Assist the Theatre Staff with helping to identify candidates for open positions in order to further its mission in continuing to diversify its staff.

• Candidate will coordinate and schedule DEIA Committee meetings, record minutes and facilitate action steps from those meetings;

• The candidate should be energetic, self-motivated and capable of seeing projects through from beginning to end. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have excellent interpersonal, and communication skills;

• Candidate will be expected to work MPAC’s outdoor summer events and must willing to help with set up and breakdown of events. Some evening and weekend work will be required;

• Other duties as required by the General Manager and the Executive Staff;

Applicants should be self-starters with excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office 365 suite, including PowerPoint. Familiarity with contracts, scheduling and project management experience is helpful. Candidate should have an interest in Creative Placemaking.

Salary range: $45,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience.
