Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

The Vice-President, Human Resources is responsible for providing leadership by developing and executing the human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the Clinical Pathology Division of Sonic Healthcare USA. The Vice-President, Human Resources is responsible for directing all of the people functions of the division in accordance with the policies and practices of the organization, the ethical and social consciences of business and society, and the laws and regulations of government and other regulatory authorities. The Vice President also aligns with the SVP Human Resources for Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) and serves as a key member of the HR Leadership Team. The Vice-President, Human Resources is responsible for interdivisional collaboration with the corporate divisions of Sonic Healthcare USA to assist with system-wide strategic planning and policy generation.

Principle Responsibilities:
  • Establishes, in collaboration with division leadership, a comprehensive, detailed, forward-looking staffing plan for the long-term health of the organization.
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization's human resource function and performance.
  • Participates in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner to the corporate office and other divisions of Sonic Healthcare USA.
  • Develops staffing strategies and programs, in concert with the Talent Acquisition CoE, to identify and develop talent within and outside the organization.
  • Develops compensation and benefit programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance. - Comp and benefits are managed centrally and executed by the division. Recommend removing.
  • Continually assesses the competitiveness of all HR programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Establishes relationships throughout the leadership of the organization to identify staffing and HR issues and to develop appropriate solutions of those issues.
  • Participates in the development of appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the Human Resources of the organization. These include employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, and career development.
  • Provides necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function of the organization.
  • Coordinates the activities, programs and strategic human resources plans for all departments and regions throughout the organization.
  • Maintains knowledge of all Federal, State and/or city laws related to Human Resources for each state/region in which the organization operates.
  • Evaluates the division Human Resources team structure for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as for providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred.

Experience:
  • 10 - 15 years experience in the Human Resources field to include a combination of education, leadership and practical experience.
  • SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience in a healthcare-related leadership role is a plus. Specific experience in laboratory medicine would be highly desirable.
