Use your advanced knowledge of the hardware engineering discipline, processes and tools to help Honeywell Building Technologies deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation of building control products by designing, testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in Ideation and development of hardware architecture roadmap

• Identify opportunities, propose, and drive technical improvements by applying advanced electrical engineering knowledge and principles

• Develop electrical architectural models, perform schematic design and reviews

• Analyze design requirements - provide electrical input for product designs and design specifications

• Design, develop, document, and validate digital and analog electrical design solutions.

• Guide engineers, technicians, and associates to ensure project and product compliance

• Present project status and report on technical issues to leadership and external customers

• Suggest enhancements to advance projects

• Assist in product global certifications (UL, CE, +Other regional standards)

• Work with sourcing and production teams to address and resolve product issues as they are identified, such as obsolescence, field emergencies, or requirements changes

• Consult with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance

MUST HAVE:

• Bachelors decree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics

• Minimum 10 years design engineering experience in a high volume, commercial equipment environment.

• Technical leadership roles as part of an advanced electronic design team.

WE VALUE:

• Digital circuit design, embedded microprocessor-based designs, and experience with wired or wireless communications

• Capability to complete demanding assignments by applying advanced hardware engineering methods and tools

• Analog design techniques & analog signal conditioning for building control and measurement equipment

• High speed communications design

• Design for EMC/EMI and protection of electronic equipment

• Experience in Cost Reduction / Value Engineering proposals

• Knowledge of Six Sigma / DFMEA will be advantageous

• Ability to work with multiple/global teams

• Strong technical leadership skills

• Success in working in a matrix environment (Program Management, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing and Manufacturing) resulting in product release to the market

• Strong problem-solving skills including ability to proactively anticipate requirements and identify/mitigate potential issues before they occur

• Experience with developing commercial building HVAC control and thermostat products and associated agency approvals a plus.
