sit in an office during the summer? Montgomery County Parks, Enterprise Division, is
currently seeking dynamic, energetic, fun seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill
our exciting positions at the Wheaton Miniature Train & Carousel at Wheaton Regional Park
and Cabin John Miniature Train at Cabin John Regional Park.

Examples of Important Duties

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
Train & Carousel Manager on Duty (Starting at $15.00/hr.- $18.72/hr.)
Responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in supervising the daily operation of train and/or carousel rides. Tasks include daily opening and closing duties, safe operation of the rides and assisting customers on/off rides, preparing cash reports and bank deposits, handling cash funds, fiscal accountability for ticket sales, notifies facility manager of facility needs, requests orders for supplies, assists in booking party room rentals, checks the cleanliness of the overall facility, and supervises staff. Excellent customer service and the ability to deal with large volumes of patrons in an outdoor setting is a must. Additional on-site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license, minimum age of 18, and experience
managing staff. Cash handling experience preferred.

Train & Carousel Operators (Starting at $15.00/hr.)
Responsible for the daily operation of train and/or carousel rides. Performs ticket sales and
cash handling. Other tasks include safe operation of the rides, assist customers on/off the
rides and being the first point of contact for customer questions and concerns. Must have
excellent customer service skills and be able to handle large volumes of patrons in an outdoor setting. Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and maintaining clean restrooms. On-site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications: Cash handling experience preferred. Must have a valid driver's license to
operate the train and be a minimum age of 18. Minimum age to operate the carousel is 16
(must have an approved work permit if hired).

Supplemental Information

These positions are seasonal (part-time) and do not include benefits. Pay rates are
based on experience.

All selected candidates must display excellent customer service skills, attain First Aid, CPR,
and AED certifications (training classes available) and attend in-house orientation. Ages
16-17 must have a work permit if hired.

Ongoing continued training and internal growth opportunities available.

A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.

The following information is a summary of benefits extended to all Seasonal employees of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). This is for informational purposes only and is subject to change.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees

Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.

If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.

Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
