The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Senior Associate Director, Policy (Standards and Care Delivery) for our Washington, DC office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote). Starting base salary = $155,000 - $194,000 a year (commensurate with related experience). The Senior Associate Director, Policy (Standards and Care Delivery) will develop, advocate and manage policy positions that enable the AHA to have a positive impact on the political and policy issues facing its members. S/he is responsible for leading AHA's policy work on the development of new drugs and devices that have implications for the delivery of care in the nations hospitals and health systems. S/he will also be responsible for advocating for hospitals on quality and safety standards, surveys, and guidance, and contribute to AHA's work to evolve policies to better enable high quality, affordable, patient-centered care delivery. This role includes a particular focus on bolstering the various supply chains that support hospital and health system operations, among other areas. This work will require interacting with hospital leaders and Hill and Federal agency staff, including from the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Joint Commission. The ideal candidate will be able to balance an array of high visibility responsibilities under continuous time and performance pressures. S/he will represent the AHA in public forums and with high ranking government and accreditation officials. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
