Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Network Operations Systems serves as an internal systems expert and is responsible for successfully executing Supply Chain systems-related activities. They oversee a team of systems development colleagues and interact with internal and external business partners on all levels to resolve reported issues and provide solutions in a timely manner. Additionally, they support strategic programs with working teams to meet milestones and deliverables in alignment with the Supply Chain Strategy.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical support teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of direct reports, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of supply chain systems to offer guidance and support to the team and facilitate issue resolution as they arise.
  • Ensure the timely and effective resolution of technical issues and service requests, meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) and Operations team expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve support processes, tools, and documentation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems support functions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including MTech leadership, Operations leaders, and end users, to understand their needs and priorities and ensure that systems support services align with business objectives.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure that hardware, software, and support services are always operational.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of the Supply Chain systems support team and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate the prioritization of system enhancement requests.
  • Act as an escalation point of contact for reporting issues with existing systems and support the prioritization of real-time issue resolution efforts.
  • Work with the Product team to develop and execute training curriculum for new systems initiatives and/or enhancements.
  • Manage the system service requests list and prioritize the efforts of the technology team to resolve.
  • Communicate issues and system statuses to appropriate levels of management (verbally and in writing).
  • Act as an escalation point of contact during facility hours in the event of critical systems failures and/or issues significantly disrupting operations.
  • Coordinate the completion of regular system audits to meet compliance standards.
  • Perform cursory monitoring of application stability and performance.
  • Open and manage support cases with application vendors regarding system performance issues and work to request database copies as required for troubleshooting.
  • Understand Macy's integration mechanisms and how they impact related applications.
  • Facilitate the maintenance of updated system users and associated access levels to assist in the execution of user audits.

Collaboration: Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure that systems support services align with business objectives.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to support strategic programs and initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to meet milestones and deliverables in alignment with the Supply Chain Strategy. Capability to effectively plan and execute strategies to address business needs and objectives.

Relationship Management: Proficiency in managing relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Change Management: Strong change management skills to facilitate the prioritization of system enhancement requests and manage changes effectively.

Analytical Skills: Ability to develop insightful and actionable analyses to support decision-making processes.

Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to work cross-functionally with merchants, vendors, distribution, transportation, technology, and finance teams.

Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement, including the ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly, as well as to develop value-added solutions.
