As a Market Research Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing insights into consumer usage and behaviors throughout their Consumer Experience Journey for our assigned business areas. Collaborating closely with relevant business teams, you will partner to understand consumer needs, preferences, and trends. Additionally, you will work alongside the Cross Category Senior Director to oversee research projects aligned with Corporate Marketing priorities, ensuring that strategies and tactics are informed by robust consumer data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize both Secondary/Syndicated research and Conduct Primary research to derive actionable insights.
  • Independently manage a majority of research projects, seeking guidance from managers for more complex studies:Secondary Research: Gather and analyze secondary data sources to address business challenges.
  • Primary Research: Conduct research to delve into and predict consumer behavior, employing various methodologies such as:Qualitative: including focus groups, in-home ethnographies, and one-on-one interviews.Quantitative: encompassing brand health research, concept tests, usage and attitude studies, post-purchase evaluations, and more.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of Research Projects, involving:
  • In-depth comprehension of business challenges and specific queries, culminating in the development of comprehensive research briefs with stakeholder endorsement.
  • Determination and recommendation of the most suitable research methodology.
  • Identification of the most suitable vendor through a meticulous Request for Proposal (RFP) process involving multi-vendor proposal reviews.
  • Assistance in negotiating the best price with vendors and managing internal finance approvals.
  • Management of research vendors from initial research design to fieldwork, analysis, reporting, and presentation delivery, ensuring data accuracy throughout the study.
  • Analysis and interpretation of data using Excel, with the creation of insightful PowerPoint charts.
  • Delivery of compelling insights in a narrative-driven presentation format that addresses all research objectives and includes actionable recommendations within specified timelines.

Job Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, product management, sales, or related field.
  • 5-8 years experience in market research, marketing, trade marketing, product management, sales or related field - analyzing consumer data and providing insights that drive business, including research methods and statistics.
  • Mix of Client and/or agency side experience.
  • Electronics / Mobile Industry research experience very strongly preferred; otherwise must have consumer packaged goods (CPG) research experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, product management, sales, or related field preferred.
  • Capable of running own research using DIY tools.

Skill Requirements

  • Strong Business Acumen to appropriately probe and fully understand business issues to tackle and provide meaningful, impactful recommendations.
  • Ability to confidently engage different levels and multi-functional stakeholders (up to VP level).
  • Comprehensive, up to date research and analytical techniques and methodologies (notably Primary research, quantitative and qualitative).
  • Syndicated research (e.g., Nielsen, NPD) experience a plus.
  • Superior Consumer focused Insights and research experience; e-comm experience is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects under very little supervision to achieve team goals and complete work assignments within established time frames.
  • Evaluate via RFP best vendor for each project.
  • Manage vendor to ensure clear goals, research capabilities and learning delivery within timeline and budget for high ROI.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey learning and actions to take.
  • Strong proficiency in development of PowerPoint charts and full decks.
  • Strong Excel skills to review, calculate and analyze data.
  • Proficiency in Tableau visualization a plus.
