ABOUT THE ROLE

As an integral member of the Materials Engineering team at Honeywell Aerospace, you will lead aerospace level functional groups in Forgings and Heat Treat engineering with Aerospace Applications and substantiation/source approval. You will apply deep experience leading teams through complex solutions in creation of new and innovative products. You use refined project leadership skills to influence teams that solve various materials challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate strong impactful leadership of Forgings and Heat Treat (Aerospace alloys, Nickel, Titanium, Steels, etc) Special Process Team
  • Use deep hands-on experience with aerospace processes leading engineers to solve all types of process challenges with strong team and project leadership skills
  • Lead the Aerospace Substantiation Functional group ensuring strong ownership and commitment to both work execution and thorough learning of business and technical processes
  • Lead and perform role model project leadership for complex technical development projects
  • Recognize processing history in the substantiation results and explain meaning of the results to upper leadership, peers, and to early career engineers
  • Lead development of engineers to understand process solutions to progress process development
  • Use a data science approach with materials science principles to develop and execute design of experiments using computational materials software (ICME)
  • Use deep practical experience with suppliers to readily understand their challenges, articulate robust guidance for solutions, and effectively relay supplier experience to the Honeywell designers for improved manufacturability
  • Use role model coaching and mentoring skills to significantly improve the agility and effectiveness of other engineers
  • Develop strategic relationships with adjacent engineering and business organizations leading achievement of Honeywell objectives
  • Travel: up 50% (US/International)
  • Relocation support may be provided
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 7+ years experience with Forgings and/or Heat Treat Note: This position will be focused on Aerospace Forgings
WE VALUE
  • Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering degree
  • 10+ years experience demonstrating both hands-on process and technical expertise mixed with process development, problem resolution and design requirement definition
  • 7+ years experience with a large variety of engineering substantiation projects with demonstrated competency in training and coaching engineers in this subject
  • 5+ years experience leading project teams in developing materials solutions and/or problem solving complex materials challenges
  • Significant experience with data science
  • Strong competency in simulation computational software (ICME) and DEFORM Engineering Software
  • Evidence of strong refined leadership and mentoring experience in technical materials project execution
  • Ability to analyze and communicate complex results to key stakeholders to influence decision making
  • Excellent communication at all levels with demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional, technical audience including Chief engineers and technology Fellows
  • Individuals who are self-motivated who consistently take the initiative to get things done and influence others to achieve on-time commitments and on-plan execution
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
  • Ability to cope with high demand environment where priorities change frequently, and multiple projects are being worked at the same time
