Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor of Billing - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the daily operations of Inpatient Billing to include patient flow in all areas of registration, timekeeping, billing, auditing of daily activities, training of staff and schedules of clerical staff.

Job Responsibilities:
    • Monitors staff productivity and quality of work. Assures that all work in department is completed on a timely basis.
    • None
    • Performs any additional duties related to Patient Accounts, Admitting and / or Finance as directed.
    • Trains staff in the use of hospital computer systems, patient accounting and patient processing systems, department and hospital policies and procedures.
    • Is willing to extend beyond basic duties in critical situations.
    • Accepts direction from supervisor willingly.
    • Cooperates in working with other supervisors and departments.
    • Completes tasks within scheduled work time.
    • Makes decisions to facilitate workflow.
    • Responsible to ensure adequate staff coverage and supplies.
    • Supervises the performance of general office duties.
    • Conducts daily audits of registrations and admissions to ensure that demographic, insurance and physician information, as well as other related registration information obtained is accurate, and entered into computer system correctly.
    • Ensures that PSAs verify insurance/address information and obtain pre-authorizations for billing purposes and initiates appropriate procedures to maintain accurate patient/insurance records including correction and updating of demographic, insurance information and verification.
    • Screens patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid and refers accounts to Medicaid Area.
    • Supervises the insurance verification and authorization process to ensure that accurate and complete insurance information is obtained for timely billing and collection.
    • Maintains productivity and quality statistics as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
Four years of experience in a health care setting. Ability to interact with all levels of staff. Must be articulate with good communication skills

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $62,400.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
