ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an immediate need for an Lead Engineering Technician on our Test Services Energies Team to support our compressed air, vacuum system, and fuel delivery system for turbine engine testing. The systems include large machinery such as centrifugal compressors, refrigerant air dryers, desiccant air dryers, cooling towers, pneumatic and water valves, natural gas heaters, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electric motors, pumps, and various instrumentation.

Work hours are from 10 PM until 6AM (shift 3).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Observe all OSHA and Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and operate Compressed Air and Jet Fuel delivery systems.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance on large air compressors, air heaters, cooling water systems, refrigerant dryers, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
  • Maintain equipment maintenance and repair records.
  • Perform troubleshooting, equipment repairs and support contractor efforts.
  • Develop strategies to continually improve energy systems operation reliability and cost savings.
  • Troubleshoot with PLC ladder logic and MMI computers.
  • Need to pass a Powered Industrial Vehicle Forklift test and Aerial, Scissor, Boom, Manlift test.
  • Must be able to safely operate power tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds with some bending and twisting required for maintenance and repairs.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years' experience maintaining mechanical industrial equipment.
WE VALUE
  • Basic knowledge of high-speed rotating centrifugal compressors.
  • Experience working with industrial air delivery systems.
  • HVAC certified, Plumbing certified, familiar with Chillers, familiar with Refrigerant/Desiccant Dryers.
  • PLC programming / troubleshooting experience.
  • Electrical experience. Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and system schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot integrated mechanical systems.
  • Safety experience with Lock Out / Tag Out, and Arc Flash precautions.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals on a team.
