TNTP's People and Central Operations division focuses on People and Central Management (Internal Operations and Communications). The Operations team focuses on internal communications, knowledge management, organizational change management, organizational programming, engagement, leadership support, and division infrastructure-just to name a few. You will lead a team that ensures TNTP staff are strategically connected to each other, to leaders and to our vision and they have the information needed to do their best work and achieve TNTP's ambitious goals for students.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Vice President, Internal Operations and Internal Communications will lead our Internal Operations (Organizational Change Management, Organizational Programming, Division Infrastructure, and Staff Engagement) and Internal Communications functional teams (Internal Communications and Knowledge Management). You will be the behind-the-scenes leader guiding our organization's strategic business objectives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of the Chief People and Central Operations Officer. You will improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity and review, design, and execute improvements to organizational structure. The Vice President of Internal Operations will collaborate closely with senior leadership to align organizational initiatives with the organization's goals and vision and be a strong project manager.

Some responsibilities and duties may vary, but the role of Vice President includes:
  • Cast a vision for the operations team that supports the executive and leadership teams that fosters collaboration and accountability between the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Build a strategy and operationalize organizational programming such as in person convenings, staff engagement, employee celebrations, organizational leadership support for leadership team meetings, at all levels of the organization (Executive Team, Leadership Team, and Management Teams).
  • Manage a team and the strategy to implement and define an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) process that cascades organizational initiatives thoughtfully throughout the year.
  • Strategically collaborate with other divisions on organizational annual planning processes and enterprise-level initiatives including organizational wide updates, protocols, procedures, etc.
  • Support the executive leadership in development and implementation of key tools to support the leadership team maximize effectiveness.
  • Manage the Internal Operations and Internal Communications teams toward intended outcomes, while building a strong and healthy culture, working collaboratively across divisions on shared organizational goals.
  • Take an innovative approach in all areas of operations management, modeling and reporting to ensure decision making is driven by strategic data and analysis and aligned with TNTP's strategic plan.
  • Serve as a change agent and collaborative leader in the Central Operations and People division to initiate change management across the organization.
  • Oversee the team responsible for the development of best-in-class central internal communications (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, emails, Town Halls, etc.), including processes and systems, that ensure the organization is maximizing communication tools.
  • Design and lead the knowledge management strategy as part of the internal communications team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Central Operations and Chief Executive Officer.


Competencies, Qualifications, and Experiences

We are looking for a candidate to possess the following skills and expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in VP Operations or similar senior role, with at least 5 years in a business management or organizational operations role and proven experience leading a team, including experience with setting the vision and strategy and change management (required) at an enterprise level
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, CBAP, CPM, etc.) are a plus
  • Provide forward thinking and innovative operations leadership: As a strategic leader within the Central Operations and People Division, the candidate will bring exceptional organizational operations, planning and execution expertise. This includes substantial experience in operations and planning management, the ability to build a cohesive strategic plan across the teams, implement and maintain effective processes, manage strategies, systems, and metrics to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Translate strategy into action: Candidates can critically assess challenges, including those that occur on short notice and require immediate action, and identify flexible, effective solutions. They are "hands-on"; with an ability to feel at home working at a visionary/strategic level but fully willing to roll up their sleeves and dig into tactical work. They're proficient in various technical applications and comfortable in a division and organization where everyone works remotely.
  • Lead through growth and change: The candidate has a demonstrated track record of success in organizational change management at the enterprise level. They embrace ambiguity and are adaptable, flexible, and comfortable with constant change.
  • Champion your people: They consistently support the quality, diversity, and engagement of staff so that all initiatives across the organization can have the strongest possible impact on closing the opportunity gap. They can develop a strategy for their teams and advocate on their behalf with other internal stakeholders.
  • Model cross-cultural agility. Authentic self-reflection, self- awareness, and high emotional intelligence are central to who you are, and you utilize these skills to shape a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion that aligns with TNTP's organizational culture and objectives.
  • Motivate and influence others to act. The candidate is an inspirational leader that values the importance of influencing through persuasion and motivation. They can provide advice and recommendations, drilling down on business topics and translating findings to a wide, cross functional audience. They have a strong executive presence, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

The candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills and an ability to interact with a diverse group of internal and external professionals. They're a collaborative team player who is an excellent active listener.

WHAT WE OFFER

TNTP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. The salary range for this position is $151,200- $226,800. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

We also provide best-in-class comprehensive benefits, providing a wide range of plans and programs that are focused on supporting the physical, mental, and financial wellness of employees and their dependents . TNTP pays toward the cost of medical insurance plans and dental and vision plans. Our 403(b)-retirement plan has up to 7% matching contribution, as well as free financial planning and coaching services, and up to $600/year payment towards qualifying student loans . TNTP also provides fully paid life insurance, parenting benefits, lifestyle spending accounts, up to 12 weeks of fully paid medical leave, generous vacation time, commuter benefits, referral bonuses, and professional development. New employees start with 5 sick/personal days, accrue 15 days of vacation during their first year of employment, and receive approximately 24 paid holidays each year-including a Winter Break the last 2-weeks of December. We also provide a one-time home office start-up stipend of up to $1,100 and annual refresher amounts of up to $250/year, a TNTP-provided laptop and cell phone, and a home office stipend of $135/month.
