Overview

AAA Life is seeking a Associate Manager, Analytics that will be tasked with developing analytical processes designed to deliver high quality and actionable insights that enable AAA Life to improve how marketing investments impact customer experience and business results. This role is a blend of client service, strategy consulting and analytics. The Associate Manager, Analytics will supervise and develop a team of data analytics professionals, collaborate with clients to select projects, lead project management efforts, deliver high-quality analyses that create value and serve as an active team member of projects.

This role involves leading the analytics operations within the marketing department, aiming to enhance marketing ROI, customer acquisition, and retention by leveraging advanced analytical techniques, including A/B testing and test-and-learn methodologies.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of analysts and data scientists, setting clear objectives, managing workload, and developing talent within the team. Ensure the team has the necessary tools and skills to analyze data effectively and generate actionable insights.

Data Analysis and Insights Generation: Perform comprehensive analyses across extensive datasets to identify trends and insights that can inform marketing strategies. Apply advanced analytics, including A/B testing and test-and-learn approaches, to assess campaign performance, segment customers effectively, and analyze customer lifetime value.

Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into marketing campaign effectiveness, customer behaviors, and business performance. Ensure stakeholders have access to real-time data to make informed decisions.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with marketing leadership to formulate marketing strategies grounded in data insights. Utilize findings from test-and-learn initiatives to recommend modifications or improvements to marketing approaches.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the marketing department and other functions such as sales, product, and finance. Ensure alignment of data definitions, metrics, and goals.

Marketing Technology Stack Management: Oversee the selection and management of marketing analytics and automation tools. Ensure the marketing tech stack integrates well with other business systems and supports the data analysis needs of the team.

Customer Insights: Leverage data to gain a deeper understanding of customer behavior and preferences. Provide recommendations for improving customer experience and engagement across various touchpoints.

Market and Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends and conduct competitive analysis to identify threats and opportunities. Provide strategic insights to keep the company's marketing efforts ahead of competitors.

Budget and Resource Allocation: Manage the budget for the marketing analytics function, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Masters' degree in Probability and Statistics, Operations Research, Linear Programming, Computer Programming, Economics, Finance, and Marketing is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data manipulation, data wrangling, developing, tuning, and validating predictive data models.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with large relational datasets and databases (SQL preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in statistical programming (SAS, R or Python preferred) and professional experience in CRM, Database Marketing, Analytics, or Strategy Consulting.
  • 3 years of experience presenting analysis and recommendations to business leaders
    • Working with large relational datasets and databases; marketing and customer interaction data
    • Working with digital marketing data including web logs or events
    • Analyzing marketing data across more than one channel
  • Strong understanding of basic business principles (finance, marketing, operations, technology, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience in an Agile environment
  • Insurance or member organization experience is a plus.
  • Preferred 2+ years of direct supervision experience including responsibility for direct report's professional and technical development.
