Overview AAA Life Insurance Company is hiring for a Life Insurance Underwriter that will, analyze, evaluate and classify risk for life insurance applications. This underwriter will determine whether to approve, modify or decline a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazards, financial background, insurable interest and other information pertinent to the decision. Has contact with the field sales team, customers and vendors to gather information on which to base decisions. Has authority to approve cases up to specific standard and substandard limits. Note:
Position Responsibilities
Qualifications • 2 year College Degree in Finance, Business or Economics or equivalent work experience preferred • 1-2 years' Life Insurance industry experience (sales experience or strong life insurance sales support and training) • Knowledge of life and annuity sales strongly preferred • Experience reviewing medical records and interpreting MIB codes • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel • Strong communication skills - verbal and written • Possesses some technology knowledge of insurance system applications and data • Works well in a team environment • Demonstrates proactive skills • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends, if required • Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced team environment • Demonstrates a high level of independence and creativity, and looks for opportunities to initiate and follow through on new projects and opportunities • Strong organizational and follow-up abilities • Ability to thrive in fast-paced challenging environment What We Offer:
