Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Teacher Non-Certified - Monday - Friday- 8a-4p, 9a-5p or 10a-6p - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate Under the supervision of the Education Director of the Center, the none certified teacher shall be responsible for working within the framework of Sunset Park Health Council, DOE, DOHMH, NAEYC, and Quality Stars NY standards, policies and procedures. Teachers promote early childhood education for children and families both in and out of the classroom by providing sound supervision, developmentally appropriate lessons and community outings, and ensuring the health and safety of all children. Teachers develop positive parent relations and encourage parental involvement and the professional growth of classroom associates. Additionally, teachers conduct regular team meetings, attend staff meetings and seek out professional development opportunities to meet the needs of their classrooms. Teachers must document lessons, observations, assessments and all necessary paperwork.

4. Follows the "When to Wash Hands" policies as posted in the classroom

5. Follows the diaper changing / potty procedures for children accordingly and as needed

6. Uses the "Germ Box" effectively

7. Uses bleach solutions to clean toys and surfaces as required

8. Notifies parents and director when children are sick or get hurt

9. Files incident or accident reports accordingly and as needed

10. Inspects fire exits and extinguishers regularly

11. Feeds children according to their individual needs, family input, and CACFP guidelines

12. Puts infants to sleep according to their individual schedules and takes care of infants upon awakening; every effort to prevent SIDS is made.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a -BS in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field
- Two years relevant experience
-Warm, caring and outgoing personality
-Ability to work well with others
-Able to create and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and staff

Preferred Qualifications:
-Initial NYS Teacher Certification
-Working toward masters in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field
-Study Plan
- Health and Safety Trainings
-Bilingual

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
