The Senior Engineer, Software (AWS Full Stack) is a member of MissionSquare Retirement's Technology Engineering and Delivery (TED) team creating MissionSquare's next generation web applications. The Senior Engineer leverages a strong technical background in AWS Full Stack development to design, develop, test, and implement solutions.

Essential Functions for this role include:
  • Works with architects, product owners, and business owners to define user stories and acceptance criteria. Develops accurate estimates of story size using story points to enable development planning.
  • Writes well designed, testable, efficient code within a collaborative agile development environment (both front and back end).
  • Actively participates in team ceremonies including story and feature demos, planning meetings, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Develops and executes test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs (unit testing and integration testing).
  • Follows and contributes to technical processes, coding standards, and guidelines. Implements secure coding best practices in alignment with coding standards. Creates and updates technical documentation.
  • Provides production support to resolve operational issues in conjunction with other technical and functional teams.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities for process and procedure improvements to drive efficiency and customer service levels (continuous improvement).
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to team meetings and supports teammates. Encourages innovation, implementation of innovative technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3 + years of experience developing web applications as a full stack developer.
  • At least 3 years in-depth experience and demonstrated proficiency developing in AWS.
  • Experience working as part of an agile cross-functional team (team-based mentality). Our team members will help other teammates strengthen their full stack skill sets and work together to get the best end results to support business and technology needs.
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries a plus.
  • Experience with Front end technologies such as React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Experience with YAML, JSON
  • Experience building REST API's, Java, Spring Boot
  • Experience with source code repositories such as GIT (AWS Code Commit)
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle) including SQL/PLSQL/Procedures/Triggers
  • Strong solution design and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Agile development methodologies
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Development experience in AWS Cloud environments
